On September 11, 2001, several steel skyscrapers collapsed in downtown New York.
While two of these buildings, the Twin Towers, have received wide publicity,
the collapse of a third steel building, known as World Trade Center 7 (WTC 7),
has been ignored by the mainstream American press.
The total destruction of this 47-story steel building occurred at 5:20pm. WTC 7 was not struck by an airplane, although it was damaged by fires that were attributed to falling debris from the other building collapses hours ealier.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) investigated the collapse of WTC 7,
and offered no explanation for its cause. Chapter 5, section 5.7 of the FEMA report states:

"The specifics of the fires in WTC 7 and how they caused the building to collapse remain unkonwn at this time...Further research, investigation, and analyses are needed to resolve this issue." |
